Hummingbird Hill is the name of my farm. I moved here in July of 2007 to get away from the burbs. Coming with me were my husband Kevin, one dog Spot, one cat Casper and three horses, Spunky, Whinnie and Wizard. We have since acquired three more dogs, Elvis, Graceland and Skippy, a Percheron named Buck, another cat, Colonel Parker and currently twenty three alpacas. Hummingbird Hill gets its name from the large population of Hummers that moves in each spring.
What a beautiful horse. I have a weak spot for greys. Buck is such a handsome fellow. I'll be looking forward to more Bucky pics. Congrats on your new blog.
ReplyDeleteJust looking at the other pics. Your property is gorgeous. I love the enclosing woods.
ReplyDeleteOoh, bhm, thanks for posting, I think I am giddy now. I love greys as well. Whinnie is a great girl although a bit difficult. She is only about 14.3 but has a nice jump. That isn't the best pic of her form, but I lost the real good ones when our old computer crashed.
ReplyDeleteWill get better pics of Buck as well.

ReplyDeleteI really love the way they cleared this place. The perimeter is all trees but the interior is all cleared with a few well placed trees left. When you are here, it is like nothing else exists.
I love Winnie!!! What a beautiful girl. Isn't that funny she was jumping wet spots? How cute. I love it when animals are quirky.
ReplyDeleteI love trees around a house. The pines that you have around your house remind of my grandparents place in Northern Ontario. I love the feeling of being nestled in trees.
ReplyDeleteI live in South Central Toronto right in the centre of the urban core. The side streets are Victorian houses with large trees and gardens. I love the area because it has fun yet funky community feel. My house has a number of large trees. My second floor has a large balcony enclosed in Cedars. I has the most amazing feeling of being in a tree house.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Whinnie is my girl and such an interesting ride. I'll tell you, by the time we finished that course, I was laughing, you see she is a major priss and doesn't like to get those high whites dirty. We did however get 6th out of 14, even doing the adds and jumping the wet spots.

I love having the trees. I am a bit of a tree hugger so this place is perfect.
