Hummingbird Hill is the name of my farm. I moved here in July of 2007 to get away from the burbs. Coming with me were my husband Kevin, one dog Spot, one cat Casper and three horses, Spunky, Whinnie and Wizard. We have since acquired three more dogs, Elvis, Graceland and Skippy, a Percheron named Buck, another cat, Colonel Parker and currently twenty three alpacas. Hummingbird Hill gets its name from the large population of Hummers that moves in each spring.
OMG!!! WHAT HAPPENED????? I am shocked, sorry, beyond words.....
ReplyDeletePhaedra,
ReplyDeleteWe really don't know. We thought she just wasn't getting enough nutrition from her mama, but we think there was some other congenital problem going on.
Both Kevin and I are really upset about this. She was so very sweet, poor baby.
Tears , you know I never let any one cry alone . So sorry , sad goodbye sweet baby
ReplyDeleteFern,
ReplyDeleteI have that same motto.
See Gracie laying behind her, she tried to help Shannon too. She layed next to her and would periodically nudge on her and even lick her.
I am so sorry CCC. This just completely sucks.
ReplyDeleteCheck your email later if you are up to it K?
Goodnight Shannon and Good Rest sweet baby...
I am so heartbroken for you. Sweet baby Shannon left a mark on all of us, I think.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting the pictures. It helps to see her so warm and comforted on your bed, with Gracie and company offering their energy.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss, both of you.
Thanks Ladies. It was hard to put them up, but I wanted to show just how special she was. She did try really hard. I guess it wasn't meant to be.
ReplyDeleteLate on the uptake as usual. Still reeling with my own loss, so I can relate. The babies are a tough one since they had their whole life ahead of them. The flowers you plant in spring will bloom in your hearts forever in her memory.
ReplyDeleteThanks CNJ, they sure tug at your heart don't they.
ReplyDeletethe days will start getting longer tomorrow, ccc. I know this has been very hard on you, and you and Kevin gave all your best and then some, to keep Shannon going. The photo of the cat and both dogs with her on the bed says it all. It is so poignant- how they rallied around her, offering their comfort and companionship.
