LOOK WHAT I FOUND THIS MORNING!!!




I went out to feed about 7:30 this morning, and Chantilly had popped!

We have a new baby girl!

Sorry for the crappy pictures, will do better later.

Vet coming out shortly and we have the cow colostrum ready to go.

    She weighed 18 lbs which is good, has been up and pronking around and nursing like crazy.

    Most importantly, Chantilly is doing really well!

    Will give the colostrum a bit later, we want her to nurse off of mom alot so the bond develops strongly. There is a 24 hour window after birth for them to get colostrum, so later today will be fine.

    CNJ, I think I will let Kevin name her, it is his turn, unless it is terrible of course, LOL!

    She is doing well, we put her and Chantilly back out with the herd after the rain cleared up this morning. I am getting ready to go put a blanket on her, it will be in the upper 20's tonight.

    I will get some new pics of her this weekend when she is outside. The ones in the barn don't do her justice.
