Hummingbird Hill is the name of my farm. I moved here in July of 2007 to get away from the burbs. Coming with me were my husband Kevin, one dog Spot, one cat Casper and three horses, Spunky, Whinnie and Wizard. We have since acquired three more dogs, Elvis, Graceland and Skippy, a Percheron named Buck, another cat, Colonel Parker and currently twenty three alpacas. Hummingbird Hill gets its name from the large population of Hummers that moves in each spring.

OH, what a dear little cria!
Congratulations! She is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhoot!!! Baby girls rule!!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing. Congrats to Chantilly.
ReplyDeleteAny ideas for a name?
Thanks Everyone!
ReplyDeleteShe weighed 18 lbs which is good, has been up and pronking around and nursing like crazy.
Most importantly, Chantilly is doing really well!
Will give the colostrum a bit later, we want her to nurse off of mom alot so the bond develops strongly. There is a 24 hour window after birth for them to get colostrum, so later today will be fine.
CNJ, I think I will let Kevin name her, it is his turn, unless it is terrible of course, LOL!
What a little dear! Love the alpaca mama-cria hug photo!
ReplyDeletehere's to all of you at HHF!
Ohhhh. Sooo sweet! So nice to have a happy ending!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet surprise to be found when you awaken and go out to do your chores. Congratulations and blessings on the new arrival.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much everyone!
ReplyDeleteShe is doing well, we put her and Chantilly back out with the herd after the rain cleared up this morning. I am getting ready to go put a blanket on her, it will be in the upper 20's tonight.
I will get some new pics of her this weekend when she is outside. The ones in the barn don't do her justice.
