BUBBLES'S CRIA HAS ARRIVED!

Isn't she just as cute as she can be?

She is definitely Artemus' girl with all that white on her front legs and chest.

Delivery was great and Bubbles' is just the greatest mom, she is all over her baby. They will stay inside tonight but will be out with the herd in the AM. Thankfully, we didn't have the storms/tornados (sp) that were a possibility today. Expecting great weather for the next few days, so Bubbles' timed it perfectly.

She weighed 14 lbs, while not quite what cria monster Fiona weighed, it is a good weight. Vet out tomorrow afternoon.

She doesn't have a name yet, but I think she looks like she is wearing a mask, so want to find an Irish name that fits.

Any ideas?

  4. GL,

I am a Mullins and Kevin is a Sullivan, we are proud of our Irish roots.

I have always been fond of finding a theme to name all of my animals:

    Elvis
    Graceland
    Colonel Parker
    Priscilla

    Night Moves
    Champagne Jam
    Seger
    Sharp Dressed Man

    Bonnie
    Clyde
    Madame X
    Batman

We just decided that we wanted to go with the Irish theme for our pacas.

She is doing very well, picked up a pound today.

I will get new pics of her outside and am going to experiment with a video.

  6. I'm suggesting Maeve which is an anglicized version of Maebh meaning the cause of great joy" or "she who intoxicates. Or euphemistically speaking beer or whiskey. It's prounced Mayv like gave or pave.

  7. Kaede,

I did think about Maeve, but it came down to Darby or Rowenna.

Since I got to name Fiona, Kevin had the deciding vote and chose Rowenna because it means "white mane" or "white hair" which she has plenty of and he can call her "wenna" which he likes.

Oh well, what can you say!

Will get some new pics up tomorrow!

  8. She is really cute and the markings make her look like she is wearning not only a mask but a cape as well? Glad you guys are escaping the storms. They are doing a lot of damage.

    Stay safe.

  9. Just ribbin' your Irish roots, lass. A Scots name is preferable on this side of the pond;)
Cute, cute, adorably cute, SO cute.
    Ahhhh. Cute Quotient Achieved Again.
    Thanks, CCC!
