JUST A COUPLE OF SILLY PUP PICS!!!

Don't have anything interesting going on here at the farm, just took these pics of my silly critters.

Did include the two pics of the interesting blanket.

Mom brought it up over Christmas. I don't think I have ever seen it before. It is a Navajo blanket that my dad's mom and dad picked up in their travels in the 1930's.

I sure wish my dad was still here so he could give me the story behind it, but anyway, it is beautiful and VERY warm. I certainly appreciated it yesterday when I had the heat set on 56 because the gas company that we deal with totally sucks.

  2. Nothing like the old, hand made blankets to keep you warm. I have one my grandmother made many, many years ago. It has seen better days, but haven't we all? Darn thing is still warmer than anything you get in the stores. She died in 1980 if that gives you any idea how old the blanket is....

Thermostat set at 56? Shit! We have had days that it gets UP to 55 and I was freezing. I don't envy you a bit on this one.

  4. It is beautiful, don't know why I haven't seen the dern thing before. Been in the family for years and years. It is in such great shape except a few places on the trim.

My GM and GD did alot of traveling back then. They lived in Fort Worth and traveled all over Texas and the neighboring states. I guess that was when my GM was a nicer person. OOOOPPPPPSSS, did I say that?

Anyway, I am glad mom brought it up here, I love it and think it is just beautiful.

Good to hear from you CNJ, hope you, JR and your family had nice holidays.

I actually had the heat turned down to 56 on purpose. We have a heat pump with propane backup. Heat pumps only work down to a certain degree, then you have to have some kind of backup. Because of how cold we have been for an extended period of time, we have burned a shist load of propane. The company we have to deal with, Amerigas, sucks. We were promised deliveries several times last week, they finally showed at 4:30 Saturday. We were getting ready to run out, which meant no heat, no hot water and no cooking. I was not a happy camper. I had the heat down that low to try to conserve the little bit we had left.

  5. CCC- I have been around, just not exactly out in the open and in the public eye so much. Things have been a bit, well, interesting is a good way to put it...

It's always good to have something as back up, but not when you get jerked around and it can't be depended upon. When it is someone else and you have little to no control- it gets even higher on the list of things that piss you off and ruin the day.

I will be dropping you an email before long. Keep an eye out, okay.

  7. NCC, I love it too. So very warm and I love the fact that it is so old and a family heirloom. I am such a sentimental person and family history is really important to me.
